Sloans event a big success
By Amanda Burgauer - June 20th, 2007

After a long hiatus, we waited with anticipation to see what would happen at the first event in a long time. Our anticipation was not in vain: it was great to get together again with some of the most long-standing members and to meet some new faces.

Sloans had given us a lovely room - their second floor restaurant cleared to allow a theatre-type space, with ample room to stand and chat with other members. And chat we did - catching up with old acquaintances and finding new friends.

The presentations were really informative and we'd like to thank the speakers very much. Xcalibre's presentation on their Flexiscale product caused not a few ripples around the room - look at for more news later this year when it launches. It's going to be big!

We found out that we were a really networked bunch, with most people belonging to more than one social network.

Steven Webster from Adobe gave a wonderful presentation about Rich Internet Applications (and their Flex product). There's so much potential for using it that I'm sure we'll be looking at it for new projects in the near future.

All in all, a great night. Thanks to all who attended and made it such fun.
